11 POINT AGENDA

 

"Linisin at Ikarangal ang Maynila" is Mayor Lim's campaign to restore the rule of law in the City of Manila through leadership, integrity and good governance.

  1. All Out war against Criminality
    • Against illegal drugs
    • Against hold-ups and robberies
    • Against unlicensed firearms
    • Against unlicensed vehicles and motorcycles
    • Against undisciplined, erring policemen and law enforcers.
  2. Education
    • Improvement of physical facilities
    • Restoration of heritage schools (Gabaldon type school), houses
    • Improvement of Computer Education from Grade School level
    • Increase number of pre-school classes
    • Increase PLM enrollees
    • Emphasis on technical and vocational education and training
    • Promote Teachers Programs for Cultural Values
  3. Health
    • Upgrade existing hospitals and open hospitals in District 3 & 6.
    • Increase supply of medicines
    • Clean up neighborhoods
    • Provide more medical and dental services in schools
    • Enhance role of health centers in community health programs
    • Promote a "Responsible Parenthood" health program
    • Invite physicians to give free medical services and care
  4. Environment
    • Reduce air pollution by rehabilitating parks and green areas
    • Reduce pollution levels in Manila Bay, Pasig River and 'esteros'
    • Reduce and monitor disposals of factory and hospital waste
    • Implement a city-wide waste management and garbage disposal program
    • Encourage citizen participation in garbage segregation and disposal
  5. Bring City Hall Closer to Citizens
    • Convene weekly town hall meetings at the Bulwagan
    • Impose deadlines on action for citizens' requests and complaints
    • Appoint an Ombudsman
    • Enhnace the participation of non-government organization and other citizens' associations
    • Reduce red tape in government offices
  6. Urban Planning and Rehabilitation
    • Comply all existing master plans for evaluation by the City Planning Office and the Manila Historical & Heritage Commission
    • Involve Manila's 6 districts in Urban Planning
    • Public consultations should be held with all stakeholders
  7. Fire Protection
    • Review fire code; enforcer's regular inspection of public and private buildings
    • Modernize and increase firefighting equipment
    • Re-enforce policy on Citizen's Volunteer
    • Fire Brigades; train Barangay fire brigades
    • Clear up streets and thoroughfares, specially in congested areas, for easy passage of fire trucks
  8. Enhance Senior Citizens Program
    • Increase benfits and privileges
    • Institute a continuous cultural program designed by Manila Historical and Heritage Commission
  9. Historical and Cultural Awakening
    • Re-open "Museo ng Maynila" and restore it's building
    • Restore and re-open the Metropolitan Theatre
    • Implement a cultural tourism program
    • Exchange visits between Manila and other cities
  10. Better Governance
    • Transparency in City Government
  11. Livelihood Opportunities
