
Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila, who founded CCM during his first term in 1995, said the school will be renamed in honor of Bonifacio, who despite financial difficulties, pursued knowledge through self-education.
CCM is one of the two locally funded higher-education institutions of Manila offering free college education to the city’s under-privileged students.
The ten different colleges of CCM offer various degree programs from bachelor to postgraduate degree programs. Having achieved 100-percent board exam passing rate, Criminology and Social Work are both considered as the University's pilot courses.
