Created by virtue of City Council's Ordinance, MASCO is under the direct supervision of the Office of the Mayor through the Secretary to the Mayor, is tasked of implementing the various sports program of the Chief Executive & other sports related activities geared towards the promotion of physical/social well being of the constituents and the city hall employees through various sports activities.

CITY EMPLOYEES' SPORTSFEST BEGINS

Manila City Administrator Jesus Mari Marzan and Manila Sports Council Chairman Paul Almario lead the ribbon cutting to symbolize the opening of the yearly employees' league under the theme "Paglinang sa larangan ng Sports tungo sa Isang Malinis at Ikarangal na Maynila" at the city hall quadrangle Monday afternoon.

 

LIM WITH PINOY CHESS GM
 

08/05/2010: Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim welcomes Philippine’s Grand Master Jayson Gonzales, who called on the Mayor Wednesday afternoon before attempting to break the Guinness Book of World Records on September 11-12 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium for the biggest number of participants in simultaneous chess game by facing off 600 players. The current record of 500 players is held by an Iranian GM. Also in photo are Councilor Niño dela Cruz (District 1), Manila Sports council Chairman Paul Almario and Manager Suiee Suarez of Pilipinas Shell for Sustainable Development.

 

 

FIGHT FOR GOLD!
 

02/16/2010:  Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim leads the Manila contingent as he asked the delegates to go for gold during the opening of the National Capital Region (NCR) Palaro 2010 at the Rizal Memorial Track and Field Stadium which the city hosted for the 1 st time.  Joining the Mayor are City Schools Assistant Superintendents Dr. Mario De Gulan and Dr. Lourdes Lim; City School Superintendent Dr. Ponciano Menguito, Manila Sports Council Chairman and Vice Chairman Niño dela Cruz and Paul Almario.

 

 

MANILA WELCOMES NBA COACH
 

08/03/2009: Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim shakes hand and exchanges smile with Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra during the basketball clinic held at the San Andres Sports Complex Saturday morning as Manila Sports Council Chairman Niño dela Cruz looks on. Spoelstra is the first Filipino-American head coach in the NBA.
