MANILA TRAFFIC & PARKING BUREAU (MTPB)

 

 

 

Ordinance No. 7815 created the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau pursuant to Section 58 of the 1991 Local Government Code. Its functions are to regulate the use of streets, avenues, alleys, sidewalks, bridges, parks and other public places; establish bus and vehicles stops and terminals, designate parking areas, regulate the putting up of signs, signpost, etc. On the streets, regulate traffic in all streets and bridges and prohibit encroachments on obstacles thereon.

OBJECTIVES

- To enforce all traffic and parking laws, rules and regulations including collection of prescribed fines and fees to violators.

- To implement recommendations on traffic flow of thoroughfares and streets as well as the operation and maintenance of designated pay and no-pay parking areas, loading and unloading areas, no parking areas;

- To duly inform the riding public and vehicle owners/operators by installing billboards and clear vehicular signs;

- To strictly enforce and cause the towing of illegally parked and stalled vehicles along major roads and the collection of approved parking fees, towage and impounding fees therefor;

- To coordinate with all concerned agencies and offices involved in traffic and management in the performance of its functions; and

- To perform other related tasks or those which may be assigned to it by the Mayor.
